Amid Marvel’s Kang Recasting Rumors, Colman Domingo Responds
Colman Domingo has had his star on the rise for the past few years and recently was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal as civil rights architect Bayard Rustin. Domingo came to worldwide fame playing Victor Strand in the AMC series Fear the Walking Dead, but has yet to make the jump to comic book movies. And despite the rumors, he doesn’t know how his name got involved with the potential recasting of Marvel’s next big villain
With Jonathan Majors being fired from the role as Kang, Domingo’s name was mentioned as a replacement–though it’s still unclear if Kang will be downplayed or completely removed going forward.
“It’s funny how people are online talking about this. And the moment it started happening, literally, I think I was on my couch,” the actor told Vanity Fair. “And I was like, ‘What rumor? Who? Where’s this coming from?’ I just didn’t think about it. The next day I woke up, it’s everywhere.”
