Marvel’s Next Avengers Movie Drops Kang From Its Title – Report

Movie titles are a funny thing. Productions are named and renamed all the time and nobody is immune to that, including Marvel Studios. The next Avengers movie might be the next in line for a name change, as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is reportedly going through a rebrand.

Due to the nine-month-long Jonathan Majors assault scandal, and the eventual firing of the actor, Marvel found itself faced with a choice of whether to de-emphasize or recast his role as Kang. Sources close to The Hollywood Reporter say that Marvel is retooling the name and dropping all references from Majors’ Kang in the title.

The report stated that the first of the new Avengers movies, due out in 2026 initially titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, will be getting a new title to remove the character’s name. Sources say that even before Majors’ conviction, the studio was making moves to minimize the character after Quantumania underperformed, despite making almost half a billion dollars.
