No Man’s Sky Debuts The Omega Update With A Free Weekend Trial

The No Man’s Sky Omega update brings a plethora of additions, including a shared Expedition, new on-planet missions, claimable pirate freighters, and more. If you don’t own the game and have been meaning to check it out, don’t fret, as you can play for free during the weekend.

Regardless of your platform of choice, the Omega Expedition is available as a free trial starting on Thursday, February 15 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET until Monday, February 19 at the same time. This community activity has players landing on the planet Nafut Gamma, following a storyline divided by milestones to overcome.

The update brings a new starship to No Man’s Sky, called Starborn Runner, which can hover above solid planes. Elsewhere, you can now jump into community expeditions directly from existing save games, confront pirate captains to claim their vessel, and take on new planetary missions–the latter with a focus on climate, geography, and ecology.
