Pokemon Sales Reach 99 Million Units On Switch Alone
More than 99 million Pokemon games have been sold for the Nintendo Switch alone. Nintendo confirmed this as part of the company’s latest earnings announcement.
Since the Switch launched in 2017, there have been numerous Pokemon games released for it, including Pokken Tournament, Pokemon Quest, Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Let’s Go Eevee, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus, alongside older titles included with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
Nintendo said the Pokemon series has “found a new home” on Switch, where the “scope of sales has greatly increased” over time. The 99 million sales figure represents Pokemon game sales on Switch through September 30, so the franchise will likely cross 100 million soon, if it hasn’t already.
