This $600 Buzz Lightyear Is The Closest Thing To Real-Life Toy Story

Toy manufacturer Robosen Robotics has announced its next collectible figure, and similar to its line of Transformers, this new toy combines an impressive number of high-tech features with a screen-accurate design. Straight out of Toy Story, Robosen has created a Buzz Lightyear toy robot that contains more than 3,000 parts, 23 servo motors, and 75 microchips. It’s now available to preorder, and it’s priced at $600 ahead of its November 11 release date.

To infinity, and beyond!

Like its Optimus Prime, Grimlock, and Megatron figures, Buzz can perform a wide number of gestures and movements through voice and app controls. In a first for Robosen, the Space Ranger has built-in micro-servos that enable realistic eye and mouth movement when it spouts out several lines from the Toy Story film. In action, Buzz can throw punches, aim his wrist-mounted laser, shuffle along on your desktop, and perform other movements based on his Toy Story animation.

The customization features of Robosen’s toys are where things get really interesting, as you can make Buzz move according to presets via a dedicated app. If you’re feeling really adventurous, a dedicated PC program allows for you to get into the real nuts and bolts of the figure, fine-tuning its movements to create custom sequences that you can activate. We’ll probably make it dance along to Randy Newman’s Toy Story soundtrack.
