Amazon unveils a new Kindle with color display, plus updated models
Amazon has unveiled some exciting updates to the Kindle series of e-readers, including the Kindle Colorsoft (the very first Kindle with a color display) as well as updated Kindle Scribe and Kindle Paperwhite models. The regular Kindle also has a new “Matcha” green colorway.

The brand-new Kindle Colorsoft
With the Kindle Colorsoft, Amazon brings a Kindle with a color display to the market for the first time. It’s said to deliver “paper-like color that brings covers and content to life” and offers both high contrast visuals and fast display performance.
The Kindle Colorsoft’s display has a new light guide with nitride LEDs that improves colors and increases brightness without blurring details. It’ll be possible to choose between different color styles and enlarge images.

The Kindle Colorsoft has wireless charging, battery life of up to 8 weeks, and is waterproof. It also includes the usual Kindle features, including fast page turning and a front light.

The Kindle Scribe (2024 model)
The new Kindle Scribe will add some practical new features to the powerful digital notebook, including a 300 PPI display.
There will also be a white frame that’s designed to offer a new writing experience thanks to Active Canvas, which allows you to write notes directly on the current page and connect the note to the text so that it flows dynamically around what you’ve written.
Also included is a new premium stylus that has the weight and balance of a real pen, as well as a new soft eraser.
The new Kindle Scribe releases on December 4, 2024 for $399.99, but you can pre-order now.
The Kindle Paperwhite (2024 model)
The new Kindle Paperwhite is a refresh of Amazon’s best-selling Kindle model, which is getting a speed upgrade. You’ll be able to scroll through your library and shop ebooks up to 25 percent faster.
The contrast of the display, which is 7 inches in size and thinner than any previous model, has also been increased. Not to mention its impressive battery life of up to 3 months, its waterproof protection, and its 16GB of internal storage for all the ebooks you could ever need.
There will also be a special Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition with a boosted 32GB of storage space, plus wireless charging and a front light with automatic adjustment.
The new Kindle Paperwhite is now available for $159.99 and the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is now available for $199.99.
The Kindle’s new Matcha colorway
For many, the visual highlight of the newly update Kindle line-up is likely to be the Kindle in Matcha green.

This is the more compact version of the Kindle with a 6-inch screen and an anti-glare 300 PPI display. It also has the same premium features that you’ll find in the Kindle Paperwhite (i.e., a customizable front light, a long battery life, and 16 GB of storage space).
