Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Devs Accessed Special Archive To Create Authentic Adventure

Wolfenstein developer MachineGames is bringing a legendary archeologist to life in December’s Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and for this new adventure, the developer wanted to deliver an authentic experience to fans. The studio has been working closely with Lucasfilm Games, leveraging a partnership that gave it access to an archive of unseen Indiana Jones material and drew upon the knowledge of experts.

“We’ve been in weekly meetings with Lucasfilm,” creative director Axel Torvenius said to The Guardian. “From audio [to] design, narrative, art, they’ve been an invaluable resource. They are the experts on Indiana Jones and everything that goes with it. We even gained access to their archive, really old and rare material, early concept art from Raiders, rare photos from sets.”

Set a year after the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Great Circle is aiming to look and feel like a globetrotting adventure. There’ll be puzzles to solve, far-off locations to visit, and Nazis to clock in the face. This version of Indy is being voiced by Troy Baker of The Last of Us fame, who Torvenius says has done an outstanding job of replicating Harrison Ford’s character.
