Movies Are Beginning To “Implode,” And Marvel/DC Are Partially To Blame, Brian Cox Says
Legendary actor Brian Cox has shared his unfiltered thoughts about the state of movies, saying Marvel and DC are to blame for cinema being in a “very bad way.” Speaking at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Cox said cinema has “lost its place” in part because of the “grandiose element between Marvel, DC, and all of that.”
“I think cinema is in a very bad way,” he added, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “And I think it’s beginning to implode, actually. You’re kind of losing the plot.”
Cox commented on the recent success of Deadpool & Wolverine, saying movies like that are “making a lot of money that’ll make everybody happy,” but there could be consequences down the road.
