Helldivers 2 Developer In “Crisis Mode” Working On Fixes For Launch Issues

Helldivers 2 is off to a strong start following its launch on PC and PlayStation 5, but the game’s popularity is also causing a variety of issues that has Swedish developer Arrowhead Game Studios in “crisis mode.”

The good news is a fix addressing the most serious of the issues seems to be on its way. Helldivers 2 game director Mikael Eriksson said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) that a patch improving matchmaking and the “most frequent” crashing issues on PC is being tested, and if successful, will soon be rolled out as a hotfix to PC players on Steam before coming to PS5.

In a post on the game’s official Discord, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt said the studio is working hard to address matchmaking bugs, performance problems, crashes on PC, and other issues that have resulted from the launch of the Sony published third-person co-op shooter.
