Overwhelming No Man’s Sky Update Overhauls Visuals, Adds Mech-Mounted Flamethrowers
No Man’s Sky has been out for many years now, but the updates just keep coming, and this latest one is one of the game’s biggest ever. Titled Worlds Part 1, the game’s Update 5.0 adds a number of dramatic new features to the game, including improved visuals, better starship customization, and even a jetpack.
As detailed on No Man’s Sky’s official site, this is one of the biggest updates for the game ever. The visual improvements alone are quite impressive, including a new volumetric cloud rendering system, a fully reworked atmospheric cloud system, a total overhaul to water rendering, improvements to shadow rendering, and better rendering of all planetary objects within the player’s sight.
The update also includes a number of gameplay and quality-of-life updates. For example, it includes Expedition 14, which will begin shortly and run for approximately six weeks. It also adds a number of new creatures to the game, 40 new cooking recipes, an improved combat HUD, and a fancy flamethrower for the Liquidator armored mech. It’s a frankly overwhelming amount of content to cover, so check out the patch notes below for the full details.
