Crash Bandicoot Artist Says Fifth Game Was Canceled
A former Toys for Bob concept artist says that Crash Bandicoot 5 was at one point in development at the studio, but has since been canceled along with another game called Project Dragon.
Former senior concept artist Nicholas Kole shared on Twitter that he was working on Project Dragon, a survival and crafting multiplayer RPG. A Twitter user asked if it was related to Spyro. Kole answered, “It is not Spyro, but some day folks will hear about the Crash 5 that never was and it’s gonna break hearts.” He also clarified that both games were entirely unrelated and were canceled by two separate studios.
While it’s unknown which studio was working Crash Bandicoot 5, several Phoenix Labs developers came out to say that Project Dragon was theirs. Phoenix Labs laid off 9% of its workforce back in May.
