Nordic strategy game Viking Rise by IGG is collaborating with the hit series Vikings: Valhalla to bring some of the world’s most famous Norsemen to the game
Real-time war strategy game Viking Rise is collaborating with MGM Television’s hit series Vikings: Valhalla on Netflix to bring three of the series’ most iconic characters to the game, complete with their own new storyline.
IGG and Amazon MGM Studios are collaborating to bring Vikings: Valhalla together with Viking Rise to introduce Collab Heroes from the series to the acclaimed war game for the first time. Available to watch on Netflix right now, the show brings the stories of some of history’s best-known Viking legends to life. In the game, Collab Heroes from Vikings: Valhalla follow players to build their cities and potentially turn the tide in real-time battles.
The new event storyline, live right now in Viking Rise, brings the show’s main characters – legendary explorer Leif Eriksson, his sister Freydis, and Harald Sigurdsson – to the world of the game after a disastrous shipwreck. The crossover event’s story, which can be viewed from the unique perspective of each character, will allow players to make decisions which shape the story.
Players have already been able to team up to win prizes, earning points, playing minigames, and making purchases for the chance to win impressive rewards, and there’s still the chance to earn emotes, skins, and even Collab Heroes by exchanging event items with the Vikings: Valhalla trio.

With its distinct focus on city management, naval voyage and combat in line with the Viking culture that inspired the game, Viking Rise brings new ideas to SLG (Simulation game) gaming. Simulated day/night cycles, weather effects, ‘Outdoor Meets’ to reduce time demands, and multiplayer dungeons help make this an impressive and unique experience, and the new Vikings: Valhalla collaboration will bring even more to the game.
Viking Rise is available to download via the iOS App Store, the Google Play Store, or through the official standalone PC version. You can find out more about the game, and the Vikings: Valhalla collaboration, through the game’s Discord or on its Facebook page.
