Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree Day-One Patch Will Add New Features To The Base Game

A day-one patch for Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion will add new features to the base game ahead of the DLC’s launch.

Coming on June 20 prior to the arrival of Shadow of the Erdtree’s release on June 21, the update will include bug fixes, balance adjustments, and a few new features alongside any preperations the game needs for the expansion. The game’s servers will be down for maintenance from 7-10 UTC as the update is applied.

A server maintenance to apply the update will be conducted on 6/20 from 07:00 to 10:00 UTC.

In a series of posts on X, From Software broke down what players can expect in the update. There will be five new hairstyles added to the character creator, which can be accessed either at the start of the game, using the Clouded Mirror Stand, or using Rennala’s Rebirth feature. The game’s inventory is getting some improvements as well, with a new “Recent Items” tab set to be added that should make keeping track of new items found in the game’s DLC easier. Newly obtained items will also be displayed with an exclamation point in the inventory screen. Summoning Pools will receive some new features, with active summoning pools carrying over to NG+ following the update and the ability to enable or disable individual summoning pools using a new Map Function menu.
