Fragpunk’s Card-Powered Shooting Looks Like Legal Cheating
Fragpunk is another 5v5 shooter that will fight for your attention soon, but with an interesting wrinkle that could potentially attract your interest a little more than other recent attempts.
This hero shooter lets you fundamentally change the rules of a match using powerful cards, letting you cover the map in thick grass to make hiding a little easier, or expanding the head sizes of foes to make those headshots a little easier to pull off. Outside of the card system, the shooter looks like a fast-paced, highly competitive affair, with a variety of stylized weapons to choose from.
The cel-shaded and frantic animation style gives Fragpunk a recognizable look already, which extends to its roster of heroes to choose from. It’s unclear yet what each one’s distinct abilities will be, and whether they’re tied directly to the cards you’re able to use during skirmishes. Regardless, it looks a bit ridiculous in an entertaining way, which might give it an edge in an already crowed marketplace.
