Destiny 2: The Final Shape Patch Notes Are A Massive List Of Updates

Just ahead of Destiny 2: The Final Shape’s launch today, Bungie has released the patch notes for update 8.0.0.1. While that update number may make it sound like a smaller one, this is in fact the full set of changes coming as part of The Final Shape–and the number of tweaks is downright staggering. Numerous areas of the game have been touched, and while many of these changes have been previewed over the last few months, this is our best look yet at exactly how Destiny 2 will be changing, both in terms of the moment-to-moment action and some of the bigger-picture areas.

Exotic armor has been changed so that you can now upgrade it in a new way. Many pieces of Exotic armor have also been tweaked, some to account for the incoming Exotic class items you’ll soon be able to unlock.

A variety of Exotic weapons and general weapon archetypes have seen changes, too, such as buffing the damage most pulse rifles (20%), fusion rifles (7%), and sniper rifles (7%) do, among others. Notably, Divinity–the Exotic trace rifle often used during harder activities–has been nerfed. Individual weapon perks have also been adjusted in various ways, such as Grave Robber activating when you deal damage (but don’t get a kill) with a powered melee attack.
