There’s Nothing In The Rules That Says A Dog Can’t Speedrun A Baseball Game For SGDQ

Summer Games Done Quick returns this month, as the annual charity speedrunning event looks to build on last year’s $2.6 million raised for Doctors Without Borders. Today, the Games Done Quick Foundation released the full schedule of events for this year’s marathon, which takes place June 30 to July 6 in Minneapolis, and it includes the return of one very good speedrunning Shiba Inu.

Peanut Butter, the dog who made headlines by speedrunning Gyromite during Awesome Games Done Quick back in January, is back with another run. This time, the Shiba speedrunner will be playing Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball for Super Nintendo, where he’ll try to simply win a single game. The run is currently scheduled for 5:35 PM PT / 8:35 PM ET on Thursday, July 4.

The SGDQ 2024 schedule also includes multiple recent releases like Alan Wake 2, Animal Well, and Another Crab’s Treasure. The final event of the marathon, which is currently scheduled for July 6 at 8:05 PM PT / 11:05 PM ET, will be a speedrun of November’s Super Mario RPG remake using real-world time as the metric, with an estimated completion time of two hours and 45 minutes.
