The Rogue Prince Of Persia Will Now Launch On May 27

Originally supposed to launch tomorrow, May 14, The Rogue Prince of Persia will now wall jump over to May 27 for the game’s release date on Steam Early Access. The roughly two-week delay partially came in response to Hades 2 surprise-releasing earlier this month.

In addition to Hades 2, developer Evil Empire also noted that pushing back The Rogue Prince of Persia “lowered the stress levels” of the team and should allow them to “kick some stubborn bugs out,” too. The 2D action-platformer is a spin-off of Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia franchise and comes from the studio behind Dead Cells. In fact, The Rogue Prince of Persia builds on the Dead Cells formula, though offers up a lot more wall running.

It was just a bit over a month ago that The Rogue Prince of Persia was announced. It will be the second game in the long-running franchise to come out this year, following in the footsteps of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown in January. Ubisoft also has a Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake in the works. However, the game has switched development teams previously and is reportedly now seeing a huge overhaul.
