BattleJuice Alchemist puts a potion-flinging spin on the RPG formula

BattleJuice Alchemist, an action RPG that combines the isometric combat of games like Diablo and Hades with the intense one-on-one battles popularized by JRPGs, puts an intense spin on the genre formula: instead of relying on weapons gathered from the world or looted from your foes, you’ll have to make all your combat tools yourself.

Juice, the eccentric-haired and powerfully mustachioed alchemist, is called to the town of Caribou Creek to help dispel a demonic uprising. The corruption that these demons have wrought on what was once the beautiful New England countryside is almost total, so it’s up to Juice to drive back the darkness.

Unfortunately, Juice isn’t much of a fighter. What he is, however, is a talented alchemist, which means that his weapons of choice are the concoctions he can brew up. As you roam Caribou Creek, you’ll find flasks in the world and be able to brew new potions at your workbench. Each flask is a different skill that you can use upon your enemies, and mastery of BattleJuice Alchemist’s deck-building mechanics will help ensure that you always find the brew you need at the exact right moment.

With his flasks created, Juice can head out into a procedurally-generated world that ensures you can keep exploring long after the main story is complete. From there, you’ll take on foes in top-down combat, or strap into intense, one-versus-one, JRPG-style ‘Bullet-time’ fights against powerful enemies. As you encounter more of these strange creatures, the plot of BattleJuice Alchemist will unravel further, but never fear – Juice has plenty of tools up his sleeve, from supercharged flasks to ritual magic that grants long-term buffs.

Available in early access while the developers actively continue balancing work on the game and with a demo so you can try before you buy, you can download BattleJuice Alchemist right now on Steam and Epic Games Store. You can now also wishlist on PlayStation.
