Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake Is Far From Dead, Saber Interactive Says

The remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has been in development for several years now, and while nothing has materialized, the project isn’t dead yet. Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch says the project is “alive and well” as work continues on it, following the studio parting ways with Embracer Group recently.

“It’s clear and it’s obvious that we’re working on this,” Karch said to IGN. “It’s been in the press numerous times. What I will say is that the game is alive and well, and we’re dedicated to making sure we exceed consumer expectations.”

Originally in development at Aspyr for three years before it was formally announced in 2021, Saber Interactive would eventually be recruited as a co-developer on this project. In 2022, Koch said that the project was shaping up to be “massive” and that the 2003 game was being remade from scratch due to its age.
