Baldur’s Gate 3 Takes Home Another Game Of The Year Award

Just like DJ Khaled, all Larian Studios does is win Game of the Year awards for Baldur’s Gate 3. The latest trophy comes from the 24th Game Developers Choice Awards, which took place March 20.

Baldur’s Gate 3 also helped Larian Studios bring home three other awards: Best Narrative, Best Design, and Audience. The dense RPG was the biggest winner at the event, with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Venba as the only other multi-award recipients. The GDC Awards also celebrated composer Yoko Shimomura, who’s contributed to classics like Super Mario RPG and Kingdom Hearts, as well as Fawzi Mesmar, who’s worked on game franchises like Battlefield and Persona.

Larian Studios might be struggling to find space for all of its trophies at this point. That’s because Baldur’s Gate 3 also won Game of the Year at the DICE Awards, at the Steam Awards, and at The Game Awards. The RPG also leads the pack with 11 nominations at the 2024 BAFTA Games Awards, which will occur April 11. One last tidbit: Baldur’s Gate 3 was GameSpot’s Game of the Year in 2023, too.
