The Acolyte Trailer Sends Star Wars To The High Republic Era
Following yesterday’s surprise debut of a teaser poster for The Acolyte, Lucasfilm has now released the official trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series. The series will debut with a two-episode premiere starting on June 4. The Acolyte will be helmed by Russian Doll showrunner Leslye Headland.
The Acolyte is the first live-action adaptation of the High Republic era, which was the peak of the Jedi Order. Murder and mystery are brewing for the galactic guardians and a dark force threatens their entire existence. Check out the trailer below.
“Close your eyes. Your eyes can deceive you,” Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) tells his students. “We must not trust them.” Those words mirror the first lesson that Obi-Wan Kenobi gave a brash Luke Skywalker. Follow that, we see a cantina brawl between Carrie-Anne Moss’ Master Indara and a masked knife-wielding attacker. It closes out with the ignition of a blood-red lightsaber twirling at a group of Jedi.
